The commercial terms
14-day free trial
No card needed to start. The full platform and email reminders are live from day one, sent from a shared Matter Due address until your own domain is set up. Subscribe when you're ready — nothing is charged unless you do.
Monthly or annual
Pay monthly, or pay annually and get two months free — flip the switch at the top of the page to see the annual price. Billed in pounds through Stripe.
No seat limits
Add as many caseworkers, deadlines and screens as you need on every package. SMS and WhatsApp run on your own Twilio account, so that usage is billed to you by Twilio directly.
Pricing questions
Is the £29/month price per caseworker?
No. £29/month is a single price for the whole firm, however many caseworkers, deadlines or screens you add. There's no per-seat charge to work out as your team grows.
What happens when the 14-day trial ends?
Nothing is charged automatically — you didn't give us a card. If Matter Due works for your firm, subscribe from your billing page; your first invoice is the subscription plus the one-time setup fee for your package. If you don't subscribe, the account is paused when the trial ends: reminders stop and editing is locked, but nothing is deleted, so you can subscribe later and pick up where you left off. We email you before the trial ends so it's never a surprise.
So what do we actually pay Matter Due?
A flat £29/month (or £290/year) for the whole firm, plus a one-time setup fee — £99 on Standard, £149 on Gold, £199 on Premium — charged once, on your first invoice when you subscribe. No per-seat charges and no markup on Twilio usage. The only other costs are below, and only if you choose SMS or WhatsApp or want the board on an office TV.
Do we need to buy any hardware?
Only if you want the board running on an office TV. You'll need a television — most firms already have one in reception or a meeting room — and a small streaming device to run the Matter Due screen. Both are one-off costs your firm covers directly, separate from our prices.
On Standard and Gold you plug in and pair the device yourself; on Premium, we visit your London office and do it for you.
Which streaming stick do you recommend?
The Xiaomi TV Stick 4K (Google TV, Chromecast built-in). It's the device we've tested the board on ourselves. It plugs into any TV's HDMI port and joins your office Wi-Fi in a couple of minutes.

Who pays for SMS and WhatsApp on Gold and Premium?
SMS and WhatsApp reminders run on your firm's own Twilio account, so Twilio bills you directly — we don't mark it up or add it to your Matter Due invoice. For most firms it's a few pounds a month:

Based on Twilio's UK pricing, which is set in US dollars and moves with the exchange rate — your Twilio dashboard shows the exact figure. Setting up Twilio and the WhatsApp approval is included in the Gold and Premium setup fee.
Does email cost anything extra?
No. Email reminders are included on every package at no extra cost.
What happens if we cancel or change package?
There's no fixed contract term — cancel whenever you like and you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. You can export your matters, deadlines and reminder history to a spreadsheet before or after cancelling. In line with our terms, the setup fee and any part-used period aren't refunded, but you can move between Standard, Gold and Premium as your firm's needs change.
